+ WHO WE ARE
Friends of the Alexander Memorial Free Library consist of a dedicated Board of Officers and a multitude of other Friends who sustain the library with their volunteer hours or financial support. Anyone can be a Friend!
+ WHAT WE DO
The Friends enhance the library’s programs and services, increase awareness of the library’s resources, and support the Library’s staff and its Board of Directors.
+ HOW WE DO IT
The Friends raise money through book sales, annual gifts, and special events. We offer annual memberships to fund various initiatives at the Library.
+ THE SUPPORT WE PROVIDE
Friends of the Alexander Memorial Free Library offer support throughout various initiatives: funding of innovative materials and equipment, funding for programs and workshops, providing publicity, and providing volunteers for programs, projects, and workshops.
+ A LOVE FOR READING
Friends of the Alexander Memorial Free Library encourage reading through various programs which include: shut-in book delivery, annual used book sales, Books for Babies program, children’s story time and summer reading programs, and used books always for sale in the Friends Book Store.
+ WHY BE A FRIEND?
When you become a Friend, you join an organization – established in 1978 – that helps to ensure continued quality service at our Library. As a Friend at the Library you’re entitled to invitations to special events, including book signings, annual meetings, and book sale previews.
